You've Already Created the Content
What content do you create?
One of the biggest reasons many people today aren’t establishing a solid web presence is because they’re already so busy with the things they’re already doing, they’re hesitant to take on a new medium that will only produce more work. It’s time to put those concerns to rest!
Most people out there who aren’t posting anything to a personal or professional blog are already producing more than enough information and content to make a great online resource! They’re just not posting that information online to make it easily accessible to a wider audience….yet!
A few examples:
- Most professional photographers don’t have a photo blog even though this is arguably the single best way to promote their business. They’re already taking and preparing the pictures; all they have to do is post two or three from each session and they have a great promotional tool and an auto-growing portfolio.
- Teachers already produce lesson plans, digital presentation tools and other handouts for their classrooms. Simply posting these online can be a great place for parents to find information about their kids’ education simply and quickly.
- Pastors and other speakers already prepare notes before speaking. Simply posting these can allow the message to reach a much broader audience.
- Business men and women are producing all sorts of reports, projects, and papers all of the time, but very few people ever see their work.
Now, what are you already producing that could easily be reposted and made available to a wider audience? You’ve already done the work! Why not give the fruit of your work some exposure? Everyone would like to have their writing, speeches, or other work published, so here’s your chance: Publish it yourself!!
With the ease of creating your own free blog, the only reason not to publish your work is if you don’t want anyone to see it. Before today’s internet age came along self-publishing was expensive. That’s why people wanted to submit their work to publishers who would take on that risk. Those days are gone!
So go publish yourself! It may take a while, but if you continually publish good work (which is what you’re already producing), someone will eventually take notice. Just be careful, you might actually end up being recognized for all that good work you do!
If you don’t already have a place online to publish your work, just follow these quick steps:
- Register for a blog Here
- Make sure it can be found by checking the box to allow search engines to view your page.
- If you’re not sure you did the second step right, you can go to the privacy tab under Settings and make sure.
- Post your work!
